My name is David and I created K9 SuperHeroes to change the world for German Shepherds
Let me share a quick story with you that changed everything for me…
It was the day my best friend James called, he said “Thunder,” his German Shepherd,
“Was going to be put down, because his joints had deteriorated to the point he could no longer walk. How has this happened Dave, he is only 8 years old.
Everyone is devastated!”
As a dog owner and lover, this is something you never want to hear from your best friend.
I grew up in a dog-loving household. My mother wanted to rescue all the dogs in the world. We had over 12 rescue dogs growing up.
Mostly Greyhounds and German Shepherds. A lot of the German Shepherds passed away from joint-related problems. It broke my heart as a kid seeing this happen to them when they seemed to have so much life left in them.
My dream as a kid was to become like my Mother and help create a better life for dogs. Helping dogs was very close to my heart because I loved them but I also knew I wanted to do something worth living for, something that had value.
Anyway, As I got older, I got a “normal 9-5 job”, but I was never fulfilled in it. I got wrapped up in everyday life and I was awful at taking responsibility for myself, I was afraid of following my dream in case I failed. But that burning desire to help dogs was always there, I just never knew how to act on it.
Then, A few years ago, I got myself into a bad mental state with my career, I had enough of a 9-5 job, I felt like I was wasting my life away.
I finally decided to take my life into my own hands and return to my dream, to help as many dogs as possible in any way I could.
During this time,
My best friend James had a German shepherd called Thunder.
He was a great dog who everyone loved. His family gave him a ton of love and care, he could be a handful, he ate what he wanted, barked a lot at people and other dogs but overall, he was a good boy, just always up to mischief. He made a habit of eating my shoes on multiple occasions and once even carried my phone in his mouth into the family pool and jumped in with it, destroying my phone.
Then I remember sitting at home one day. My phone vibrated on my desk; it was James. I had one of those feelings that something was wrong before I even picked up the phone, I was nervous to take the call. I said ‘Hello’ and there was a long pause, I could feel my heart rate starting to race and the room fell quiet, and with a broken shaky tone James said ‘Dave, Thunder has to be put down, his joints have deteriorated to the point he cannot walk, he’s only 8, everyone is devastated’.
The family was inconsolable. As you know, and our other clients do too, it was more than just losing a dog, it affected everybody deeply especially his Father, who was so close to Thunder. His Father actually slipped into depression for a while, and wasn’t the same for some time, affecting his work and family life. James was not himself for a long time either. The fact that he died so young hit them harder, they felt like he had so much more to give.
James’ family gave Thunder a lot of love and care. But after a lot of research they realized that they had not done enough when it came to supplements, nutrition, training & obedience, exercise, separation anxiety and mental health to improve his overall health and minimize the chances of joint ailments developing. They had the right intentions but it wasn’t enough.
This made them feel especially guilty that they had let Thunder down and if they had done more, they could have had more time together as a family.
I wouldn’t wish this on anyone
Has this happened to you?
Are you worried about this happening?
Don’t worry, it is not your fault…
If you don’t know better what can you do?
About a year later, after mourning the loss of Thunder, they decided to get another German shepherd, they called him Storm.
But before they did, the whole family agreed they would change how they looked after this dog and they did what every good owner should do, they pulled out their wallets and invested in the right knowledge and tools.
They consulted an expert breeder who gave them information on how to look after him better than 99% of owners. Information on what joint supplements they needed to buy from day one, information on separation anxiety & mental health and how that affects their daily lives, as well as correct nutrition & training to protect joint function from the outset.
It was a lot of investment of time and money from the family. But they did something amazing, they changed how they viewed ownership, they changed themselves to become the best owners they could be.
Eight years later, Storm acts like he’s half of his age. The vets say his joints are in pristine condition and his health is as good as any they’ve ever seen.
Seeing Storm grow up healthy and happy, with all the changes James’ family had made, gave me the inspiration and drive to create K9 Superheroes. A movement designed to help dog owners change their lives by educating them and giving them the right tools to give their dogs the best life possible.
I believe all owners can become their canines superheroes just by making a few simple changes in how they act as owners.
Finally, I knew what I wanted to do with my life. I wanted to create a movement to help owners and their German Shepherds live the best possible life and I wanted to start out by helping owners with the joint problems that plague so many German Shepherds.
So, I got to work building a joint protection supplement for German Shepherds as well as guidebooks for owners when it came to nutrition, training & obedience, separation anxiety & mental Health. When you bring all of these together it changes the life of your German Shepherd by improving their general health and greatly reducing joint problems from developing.
Even for German Shepherds with current joint problems, you can erase any pain and begin to bring mobility back, giving them a new lease of life.
It took me over a year, to source the best and most natural ingredients from highest- rated FDA regulated suppliers in the USA. I also conducted hundreds of hours of interviews and worked with experts in dog nutrition, German Shepherd training & obedience and experts in the field of mental health within dogs.
The road has been tough, I had very little time whilst working long hours in my 9-5 job, waking up at 6 am every day and getting home at 9 pm to find time to get anything done. It was a real struggle and cost me a lot financially to set up.
Not only did I want to create a joint support supplements for German Shepherds but also to help the owners by giving them the right information to change how they looked after their dogs as a whole.
I wrote 4 books from the information I had compiled through the interviews with experts.
This took up all of my free time over the past couple of years and I barely had time for friends or family.
Fast forward to today…
I’ve done it,
I finally feel like I am making a difference.
I created the German Shepherd Joint Protection System
We are changing the lives of owners and German Shepherds all over the world by educating them and giving them the right tools to give their German Shepherds the healthiest, happiest and longest lives possible, free from joint pain.
So now it’s your turn to change yourself and change their world.
